Great Looking Original C.S.A. Pewter Belt Buckle From Shiloh
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a very fine looking piece! It is an original and rare Confederate pewter style C.S.A. belt buckle. This is the classic style buckle that was produced in Rome, Georgia by the Noble Brothers Foundry. This is the version that is illustrated on page #67 of the Confederate belt buckle book by Steve Mullinax. It has the C.S. A. lettering on the face which is nice and clear. Because these are made of pewter they often break. When this one was recovered it was broken down the middle and has been expertly restored for display and preservation. On the reverse of the buckle it has two and a half of the three of the iron wire style attachment loops intact. The verbal history that accompanied this buckle is that it was recovered several years ago in the are of Shiloh to Corinth. A mint excavated one of these can easily bring over $10,000. This one displays every bit as well and is less than half of the price.
