Here is a nice piece that is ready for your wall. This is a pair of original excavated military buttons like those that would have been worn by the soldiers forcing the Cherokee Indians on what would become known as "The Trail of Tears". In the center of the frame is a modern xerox copy of an image of the Cherokee leader, Major Ridge. Below his image are the two buttons. The first is a cuff size button worn by one of the U.S. Dragoons. It has the eagle with the "D" on the chest shield. The other button is the 1-piece coat button with the large "US" under the flying eagle. Both of the buttons are original and in nice shape for excavated buttons. Below the buttons it has a descriptive paragraph telling of the history of the Trail of Tears. The piece come beautifully framed in a wooden frame that measures 17 inches by 14 inches in overall size. It is ready for your wall.
