If you have always wanted a wonderful original Revolutionary War era sword with a ton of character, then wait no more. This is a great original British Brass-Hilted Officers' Sword. The weapon measures 30 inches in overall length. It is crafted with the well made single-edge, slightly-curved 24-3/4ths inch blade. The blade has the narrow fullers on each side. At the base of the blade it is stamped with the British crawn and you can see part of the "GR" English marking. The sword has the original brass hand guard with the wheel style detail work. One thing that makes the sword really stand out is the pommel cap. It is crafted from brass and made like the head of a Lion. The lion is very similar to a bear's head. It has the hand guard that has the four slotted design with nice curves. On the handle of the sword, it has the dark wooden grip with twisted copper wire wrapping intact. This sword was once a part of the collection of Bill Guthman. Bill was a noted collector and author on military items from colonial America and was also one of the early appraiser's on PBS's Antiques Roadshow. When I first started on the show he was a driving force in aiding me to get on more shows. He had a museum like collection and now is your chance to own one of his pieces. This is a great looking sword from the Revolutionary War era.
