Click on an image to enlarge
This is a cool piece. It is an original paper container for holding musket size percussion caps. The container measures 2-3/8ths inches across and is 3/4ths of an inch tall. It has the original paper label remaining on the lid. It states that it held 100 United States Hick's Army Caps and that they were made by the American Flask and Cap Company in Waterbury, Connecticut. It has the beautiful patriotic eagle design in the center. There are still one of the caps remaining on the inside of the container.
