Beautiful Confederate Ambrotype 6th Plate Image with Colt Style Revolver

This is a beautiful original Confederate image. This is what is known as an ambrotype image. These were created by applying the emulsion onto a plate of glass. This one shows the Young Rebel in a seated position with his arm resting on the table beside him. He is wearing one of the Confederate "Shell" style jacket and you can see the belt supports around the waist. The belt is the square Confederate "Frame" pattern buckle that was worn by the regular fighting men of the Confederacy. You can see the buttons going down the front of the coat as well. As you can see the image is clear with a halo around the brass mat. One thing that makes this one special is that he is holding a revolver in his hand. The revolver is the Colt style revolver. The gun could be a regular Colt but it could also be a Confederate made Colt copy. The barrel looks round which would make it Southern but sometimes it looks Octagonal like a standard Colt. The image comes in a complete leatherette style case that is repaired at the spine. This is a very pleasing looking original Civil War Confederate image with a cool revolver.
