This is an original leather and brass scabbard for a socket bayonet for the Civil War .58 caliber rifle. This is the classic style that was designed to fit the Civil War .58 caliber Springfield or contract maker made rifle bayonets. It is the correct style for the U.S. model 1855, 1861 or 1863 rifles. The leather and brass scabbard that is in nice used but not abused condition. The scabbard has an original brass scabbard tip and finial intact. At the top of the scabbard it has the leather belt loop remaining. It is the style with the eight attachment riveted style construction which is usually later Civil War production. The last image shows how it looks with a .58 bayonet inside but it is not included int his price. All this one needs is your rifle bayonet to go in it. Item #: C3068 Shipping Weight:
