CHRSTMAS SPURS! Beautiful Non-Excavated Officer Pattern 1861 Cavalry Spur Pair
Click on an image to enlarge
This is an excellent matching pair of non-excavated Civil War officer pattern cavalry spurs. This is the classic style that was worn by the Civil War cavalrymen of officer rank. They are made of cast brass and is the pattern with the floral style pattern at the base of the rowel neck. They also have the ribs and stippled background that denotes them being of officer grade. They both have the excellent original iron rowel still present in the neck and they still spins. Each spur has a great looking untouched patina all over with a superb look. They are the pattern of spurs that are clearly marked "PATENTED DEC 24, 1861." on the inside of one and the other is unmarked but is the exact match as you see. That makes a super neat touch on an already great spur. Because of this date marking you often hear these spurs referred to as the "Christmas Spur" by collectors. You get both of them for $595. You will have a hard time finding a better spur pair than these.
