Early 1900's Mattatuck Manufacturing Company Judd Model Police Handcuffs

This is a neat piece of police historical memorabilia. This is and original pair of Mattatuck MFG. Co. Judd Model Police Handcuffs. These are Mattatuck MFG. Co. nickel plated steel handcuffs with 3 round rings. They are acocmpanied by a replacement key and are fully functional. On the side of one of the bodies, it has the stamped mark of "MANUFACTURED BY THE MATTATUCK MFG. Co. WATERBURY, CONN". This set came from the author's collection of the book entitled "American Police Equipment, A Guide to Early Restraints, Clubs & Lanterns" by Matthew G. Forte. This one is from the personal collection of Mr. Forte. The last couple of images show these pictured in the book. This one is in very fine shape and the action of the mechanics are still functional.
