Click on an image to enlarge

This is an excellent reunion medal from the Grand Army of the Republic. The Grand Army of the Republic was the veteran's organization made up of Union veterans of the Civil War. This medal is for a soldier from the state of New York. The top bar is made in the shape of a Buffalo and it has the medallion bar hanging down. The hanging medallion bar has the "DELEGATE" label so you know it was worn by an actual soldier not just a visitor. The red ribbon has the "CONVENTION HALL BUFFALO, N. Y. JUNE 1908 IN GOLD LETTERING. The lower medallion has the image of the veteran in the center that was the department commander Harlan Swift. The back of the medallion has the "42nd ANNUAL" and "ENCAMPMENT" wordings to go along with the "DEPT. OF NEW YORK G.A.R." and it has the image of the McKinley Monument in the center. The pin is present on the back of the medal. This is a beautiful designed reunion medal in nice shape.
