This is an interesting original Civil War document from the cavalry. This is the pay and clothing report from the 2nd Maine Cavalry. It was written from Barrancas, Florida on November 22nd 1864. It is the pay and clothing report of Private Frank Eastman of the 2nd Maine Cavalry. In the center of the pre-printed document, it has the ink writing that notes that he was being charged $30 for taking his Burnside carbine and $25 for his Remington pistol. He also owed for his saddle carbine cartridge box, belt and buckle, pistol cap box and bridle. The document measures 21 inches by 10 inches in overall size. This is a wonderful document that shows what it took to keep a cavalry unit in the field.
