Nice Excavated "Forrest" Pattern Enfield Bullet
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a cool pattern of Civil War Enfield rifle bullet. You often see these listed as a "Forrest" Enfield. They are about .50 in caliber and look very similar to the Enfield but they have a distinctive round nose design. They are often found in campsite of Nathan Bedford Forrest's Confederate cavalry and are almost surely Southern made. This piece was found recently in a Confederate cavalry camp of General Nathan Bedford Forrest' cavalry in North Mississippi.
