This
is a fine original Confederate States of America $20.00 bill issued from
Richmond, Virginia on July 25th 1861. This is one of the most
beautifully designed notes ever made by the Confederacy. It has the tall mast sailing
ship in the center with the sails full of wind and the waves whipping below the
ship. On the left hand side it has the large "20" mark. The note is correctly
hand signed and numbered and is in circulated condition. In the center of the
bottom of the paper it has the printer mark of Hoyer & Ludwig of Richmond,
Virginia. This is the version listed as T-9 in Criswell's Confederate Currency
book. The overall size of the note measures 7.25 inches by 3.25 inches. The note is in very attractive circulated condition with some edge nicks. It has the circular cut in the paper where it was marked by the Confederate Government when it was taken out of circulation. This process is known as "Cut Cancellation". It
comes in an acid free holder for preservation and display.
