This is a great looking Civil War savings bond! It is an original $100 savings bond issued by the state of South Carolina. It has the date of January 1st 1862 written in at the top and states that it was issued from Charleston, South Carolina. Across the top it proudly states "STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA" and above that it has the "MILITARY DEFENSE OF THE STATE". It has the image of the beautiful South Carolina state seal with the palmetto tree at the top with the different palmetto tree designs on the sides. It is correctly hand signed and numbered. The overall size of the bond measures 14 inches by 9 inches. There are a couple of small tape pieces on the reverse of the paper. It displays superbly as you can see and will look even better on your relic room wall.
