Excavated Civil War Confederate State Uniform Buttons
SUPER RARE! Austin Mounted Militia of Texas Uniform Button TX33b
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is one of the most desirable of all Civil War buttons. It is the first one of the buttons I have been able to offer in my 30+ years in business. It is the famous cuff size uniform button for the state of Texas. It has the bold inverted lone star in the center with the "AMM" lettering around the edge. The "AMM" lettering stands for the Austin Mounted Militia from Austin, Texas. The face of the button still retains a trace amount of the original gold gilding as you can see in the pictures. This is the pattern listed by Albert's button book as TX33b and in Tice's button book he lists it as TX246as1. These buttons are rare enough that in Albert's button book, they had a hand drawn image of the button because they couldn't find one to picture. You can still see the Scovill maker mark on the back. The original shank is present and accounted for with a nice look. It isn't often that you get a chance at one of these Civil War Texas rarities, so don't miss your chance.
