This is a wonderful cased pair of officer shoulder epaulets in the original case. The epaulets each have the ornate silver embroidered eagles that denote the rank of colonel. They have the gorgeous golden color brass bullion on the edges and the bullion appears to be complete. In the underside of each piece, it has the golden silk padding intact. These are the versions that hooked into place on the uniform shoulders. The box is in nice shape with about 80%+ of the original black color on the outside and most of the original finish on the inside. The closure tab is lost to the ages and one of the hinges is still present and it has the handle on the top. The box measures 8-1/2 inches by 7 inches by 6 inches in overall size. This is a great set of Civil War colonel's epaulets that any collector would appreciate.
