Inspector Marked Indian War Era Cavalry Horse "Link" Strap with Snap Intact
Click on an image to enlarge
Here is a piece that you don't see offered that often these days. It is an original black leather "link" strap. These were used by the soldiers serving on horseback. When they would get off of their horses they used these to link the horses together, hence the name. It has the original iron snap still intact as well as the original oval style iron buckle. The leather still has a pleasing black tone. This is the version that was made after the Civil War. It has the inspector initials "D.C.L." stamped by the buckle. This is a fine used but not abused example.
