Storms of New York Maker Marked Scabbard with .69 Caliber Musket Bayonet

This is a very nice looking non-excavated socket bayonet for the Civil War era Springfield style military .69 caliber musket. This one has a full-length blade with the "US" stamp marked at the base. It also has the inspector initial "A". The socket is also in fine shape and it the the style was made without the lockring and screw. This pattern was designed to fit the U.S. military muskets of the 1816 pattern by Springfield or the muskets made by the contract makers either one. You need to remember that just because your musket is an 1816, they do not always interchange. So this one might not fit your gun but will look nice displayed beside it. It has a darker tone finish all over that will look fine on many of the guns that are out there. This will be a solid addition to your gun or just for display by itself. The bayonet is accompanied by a great looking original Civil War leather scabbard. The brass scabbard tip is present on the end of the scabbard body which is also complete. The top of the scabbard has the belt loop intact and is the style with the 7 rivet construction. You can still make out the maker's mark that reads "STORMS N.Y. MAKER". I really like this because it lets you know exactly who made this one. This is a very nice addition to any Civil War rifle.
