This is a fantastic looking piece! This is a classic Scottish flintlock pistol from the 1770's. It is a finely crafted all steel pistol with a great look. It is designed with the barrel that is full length at 7-1/2 inches that fires the bullet of .62 caliber. It is 12-1/2 inches in overall size. When you look at the handle of the gun it has a wavy silver inlaid line on the butt. There are also silver and gold inlays on the wrist, and it has a small silver inlay on the top of the breech. There is a raised silver band on the barrel. It is simply but beautiful made with foliate engraving around the trigger and the back of the lock. On the under side of the frame, it has the silver ball-type trigger. It was designed to be used without a holster so they have the belt hook on the left side. Under the barrel, it has a steel ramrod with button-type head. For those of you guys that have been watching the series Outlander, you can have one of the style of guns they used in Scotland. This one is a keeper.
