It has the script style "NY" letters in the center of the face of the cast brass plate. It has the integral cast wreath design around the letters and the stippled background. On the reverse of the buckle it has the original thin small size belt hook intact. This belt buckle has the face that is style that is similar to the ones that are illustrated in the O'Donnell and Campbell buckle book on page #403. He lists this style plate as being manufactured from 1863 until 1865. The buckle is accompanied by the original fine quality black leather belt. The leather is still nice and pliable. It has one the original sword hangers intact. The brass rivet that clasps on the sword ring is the pattern that has the star on the side. Most of the time these are missing. It has the original brass belt keeper attached. This belt and buckle are nice enough to wear today and will look great if you need one for a mannequin. This one is a keeper!
