Here is a very interesting Civil War bank note from
Louisiana. This one is for the amount of $5 from the Bank of Louisiana in New
Orleans. The center of the note has the beautiful spread wing Eagle with the
ships in the background. What makes this note special is the date it was
issued on April 5th 1860. The
note is nicely and correctly hand signed and numbered. On the reverse of the
note, it has the beautiful pale red ink printing with the "5" denominations on
each side and in the center. It reads "BANK OF LOUISIANA". It is in beautiful circulated condition. The overall size of the note is 7-1/8th inches by
3 inches. It comes in an acid free holder for preservation and display.
