This is an original 1862 dated note from the state of Mississippi. This one is
printed in the denomination of $2.50. On the right hand side it has the Indian
brave standing with the large bow and tomahawk. On the left hand side it has
the image of a farmer with grain and a sickle. What stands out on the note is
the blue ink overprint. It boldly reads "COTTON PLEDGED" over the image of a
crest with star, flags, cannons and cotton bales. It is correctly hand signed
and dated May 1st 1862.
The note is in nice circulated condition as you can see in the scans and it displays
well. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
