This is an original 50 Cent bank note from the state of
Louisiana. This one was issued from Shreveport on March 1st 1864 and
is so dated along the bottom of the bill. On the left hand side of the note it
has the image of an eagle in an octagonal frame. In the center of the note it
has the image of ships sailing around a fort in the distance. Across the top of
the note in small print it states that the note is payable "Twelve months after
a treaty of Peace between the Confederate States and the U. States". The note
is nicely and correctly hand signed and numbered. It is in very nice almost un-circulated
condition. The overall size of the note is approximately 5.25 inches by 2.25
inches. It comes in an acid free holder for preservation and display.
