Very Cool Ferdinand Esser Made Folding Guard Bowie Knife From the Early 1900's
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a very cool knife! It is an original early 1900's Bowie knife. This is the pattern that is designed with a folding blade that locks into the handle. When you pull the German silver release on the side of the stag handle it releases the blade to be pulled forward to open. As the blade goes forward the German silver crossguard folds out. The blade is a clip point design with the full 7-1/2/ inch length. On the side of the blade it has the Ferdinand Esser maker marking from Solingen, Germany. The knife has a pleasing tone all over. A great display piece.
