Here is a fine displaying piece of history that doesn't cost a fortune. This is an original model 1860 cavalry saber. It is the classic pattern of Civil War cavalry saber. You can no longer see the markings but by the construction it is clearly an American made cavalry saber. The blade is full-length with an old attic tone. It has the slight service nicks along the edge. The sword has the original brass hand guard and pommel cap. On the handle of the sword, it is worn down to the original wooden core. The sword is accompanied by the original metal scabbard. The scabbard is complete except for the missing lower mount and ring. What a cool display piece!
