Here is a gorgeous gun. This is a gorgeous flintlock pistol from the 1700's. This Germanic flintlock fires a bullet of about .58 caliber bullet from the full-length 8-1/2 inch barrel. The barrel has the gorgeous Damascus pattern on the outside of the smoothbore barrel. The gun metal has the bright steel finish that displays beautifully beside the medium tone walnut wood stock. On the front of the barrel, it has the original brazed German silver front sight. It is wonderfully designed with the brass fittings including the triggerguard, grip cap, side plate and ramrod guides. It has the faceted lockplate with a unique tapered form and concave border. The lock has the swan-neck cock with light line engraving detail work. The gun retains the original rounded and fenced iron pan with bridle. The flint pan is fitted with unique safety device consisting of a lever mounted on frizzen that activates a cover on the pan with the frizzen is moved forward (as in the action of firing). At the breech of the barrel it has the three brass inlaid "HG" poincons. Under the barrel, it has a finely crafted replacement ramrod. On the side of the lockplate it is marked in two lines "GEO SCHEMEZLER/A NEUSTAT". This gun is in fine condition overall. The action is tight and functional with a good bore. This one is a beauty!
