Non-Excavated Confederate Buttons from the Various States
Beautiful Confederate Used Maryland's St. Timothy Hall Cadet Coat Button

This is a beautifully designed Civil War cadet button. This is the one listed as SU378av in Albert's button book and as MDS275C1 in Tice's book. It is the 20mm coat size button for the St. Timothy Hall that was located in Cantonsville, Maryland. Confederate General Fitzhugh Lee and Lincoln's assassin, John Wilkes Booth attended this school. The face of the button has the school name as well as the star and in the center of the button. It has the plain background. This one is in fine non-excavated condition with a very nice amount of the original gold gilding on the button face. On the back of the button it has the original back intact with the shank being solid as a rock. It has the correct back and is the version was made by the Waterbury Button Company Firm in Waterbury, Connecticut before the war broke out. This is a great looking non-excavated original Confederate used St. Timothy Hall Academy cadet button.
