Artillery
Non-Excavated Cuff Size Artillery Corps Uniform Button Circa 1815
Click on an image to enlarge

This is an original non-dug cuff size 1815 period artillery corps button. You see these in excavated condition fairly regularly but you don't see them in non-excavated condition very often. It has the cannon on the front with the eagle perched on top of the barrel. Below the gun is a stack of cannonballs. Across the bottom of the button you can still read part of the "CORPS" wording. This one has the original shank on the back of the button. This is the style listed as figure AY55av in Albert's button book.
