50 Cent Metropolitan Savings Bank in Richmond, Virginia Dated August 1861

Here is a cool note from a tough to find bank. This is a piece of currency was issued by the Metropolitan Savings Bank in Richmond, Virginia and is marked as such along the center of the note. The Metropolitan Savings Bank was authorized in 1856 and does not appear to have survived the end of the Civil War. It has the issue date August 1st 1862. On the left hand side of the note, it has the image of the Indian princess. The note was issued in the amount of 50 cents. It is made with the blank back which is known as it being "Uniface". The note is in beautiful condition all over as you can see. Don't miss your chance to own this interesting note. The note measures 6-3/4ths inches by 2-3/4ths inches in size. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
