I states that William Critchlet, Jr. who was band leader of the Brigade Band of the 1st Division of the 18th Army Corps. It also states that it was approved by General Butler for his trip to Baltimore, Maryland. In red ink, it is signed by Abel Leavenworth who served int he 9th Vermont Infantry.
