Authentic Revolutionary War Continental Army "USA" 19.5 mm Coat Button
Click on an image to enlarge

Here is a button that you very seldom see offered for sale! It is an original uniform button from the United States Continental Army from the Revolutionary War. When you hold this one in your hand you can just imagine that it was worn by a soldier in front of George Washington for a review. It has the intertwined letters "USA" on the face of the pewter button that are still partially visible. This is the 19.5 mm coat or vest pattern that is illustrated as figure GI2d in Albert's button book. These fragile buttons very seldom survive and since there were only a few of them made to begin with you very seldom see offered for sale. This one has the original integrally cast pewter shank. It displays well. You can see the letters on front of the button. This is a very scarce button that you don't want to miss!
