Matching Pair of Non-Excavated Civil War Regulation Cavalry Spurs
Click on an image to enlarge
This is a nice original matching pair of non-excavated Civil War regulation pattern cavalry spurs. This is the classic U.S. Model 1859 style that was worn by the Civil War cavalrymen. They are made of cast brass and is the pattern with the unadorned base of the rowel neck. They each have the neck still present and they have the rowels sill nicely intact. What is special about the rowel is that the original was replaced eons ago using the five-cent pieces dated 1897 and 1905. You can still clearly read the date on the coins. Each spur still has a nice even patina all over with a very pleasing look. This is a great looking matching set of spurs for your relic room.
