This is an original Civil War soldier's image and is a tough to find version. This is a sixth plate tintype of a wartime private wearing the Zouave uniform. One thing that is neat about this image is that the photographer highlighted the buttons on the coat with gold gilding and also on the "US" on his belt buckle is visible. The young Zouave stands in front of a camp scene backdrop, posed with his rifled-musket and bayonet. The image is housed in an original gutta percha case. This is a tough to find image of a Civil War Zouave soldier.
