This is a very nice piece for the wall of your relic room. It is a framed oval albumen style image of a Union Cavalryman in uniform. The image itself is 8.5 inches by 6.5 inches in size and shows the standing view of the officer in his uniform. We know that he is an cavalryman because on his shoulder boards are lightly colored. This is because they would have been the golden yellow which denotes the artillery branch of service. He proudly wears the frock style military coat with the single row of buttons down the front. by his side he holds his forage style officer hat. On the bottom of the image it has the embossed stamp of the Detroit, Michigan photographer, Grelling. The image is nicely held in an old oval wooden frame. The frame measures 13 by 11 inches in size. It is ready to hang on your wall.
