SUPER RARE! Non-Dug Confederate Made Texas Coat Button TX23
Click on an image to enlarge
It took me over 30 years to own one of these in non-excavated condition! Here is one of the most desirable of all Civil War Texas buttons. It is the famous coat size uniform button for the state of Texas. It has the bold lone star in the center with the "TEXAS" lettering around the edge. These confederate made versions had a very tall dome and this one has the slight push to the center of the face and it is priced accordingly. The face of the button still has as gorgeous high copper content patina as you can see in the pictures. This is the pattern listed by Albert's button book as TX23 and in Tice's button book he lists it as TX251a1. The original shank is solid as a rock on the back of the button. These were made without any maker marking on them. It is in beautiful non-excavated condition. It isn't often that you get a chance at one of these Civil War Texas buttons so don't miss your chance. Again it took me 30+ years!
