This is a great looking Civil War savings bond that was never issued! It is an original $100 savings bond issued by the state of South Carolina. This one was signed but never dated or issued. When you see them issued they usually have the date of January 1st 1861 written in at the top and states that it was issued from Charleston, South Carolina. Across the top it proudly states "STATE OF SOUTH CAROLINA". It has the image of the beautiful South Carolina palmetto tree at the top with the ship on one side and the steam train on the other. It is correctly hand signed and numbered. This one is missing the original interest coupons on the bottom of the bond. The overall size of the bond measures 12-1/2 inches by 9-1/2 inches. It displays superbly as you can see and will look even better on your relic room wall.
