Extremely Rare CDV Image of Robert Parrott Inventor of the Parrott Cannon

This is a fantastic piece form my personal collection. It is one of the only surviving images of Robert parker Parrot. Parrot is best known for developing the rifled Civil War cannon that bears his name. I acquired one 20 years ago from Jack Melton, who co-wrote the book on Civil War artillery shells. He stated at the time that it s a very scarce item and that only a small few are known. This is only the 2nd one I have ever had the chance to own. It has the distinguished looking Parrott on the front of the CDV image. The back of the card has the card it has the Cold Spring, New York photographer marking of the F. Wheeler Company. The West Point Foundry is located in Cold Spring, New York. In all of my years of dealing and collecting I have only had two of these so don't miss you chance at this fantastic piece of history.
