Overseer & Slave Harvest Scene 1863 Dated Confederate $300 Savings Bond

Here is an authentic 1863 dated Confederate States of America savings bond. This is the style issued under the act of the Confederate Congress that was approved on February 20th 1863 in the hand written $300 denomination. It is the style that has image of the plantation overseer on horseback with the slaves harvesting in the background. If you notice , this is one of the bonds that were made without the bond coupons at the bottom. It is correctly hand signed and numbered by the Confederate Government officials in fine brown ink. It is signed by Robert Tyler who was a descendant of President Tyler. This is the Confederate bond listed as Type 258 in the bond book by Ball and as CR127 in the Criswell Bond Book. It was lithograph printed by J.T. Paterson of Columbia, South Carolina and is so marked in the lower part of the bond. This is a very attractive original Confederate states savings bond with a distinctive center design.
