North Western Bank of (West) Virginia $1.00 Bank Note from Wheeling

This is an original Civil War piece of currency from Confederate Virginia. This $1 note was issued by the North Western Bank that was located in Virginia at the time before West Virginia became a state in June of 1862. It has the hand written issue date that has faded beyond legibility but experts say that these were issued during the War. The front has the note has the scene with the eagle in the center and the maidens on the side. It has the red ink overprint that was added to prevent counterfeiting. It is correctly hand signed and numbered. These notes are printed on the front side and were left blank on the reverse. This is known to collectors as the bill being "Uniface". The note is in circulated condition and is 100% authentic in all regards. It has the overall size of the note measures 7-1/8th inches by 3 inches. It comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
