Beautiful Non-Excavated TIFFANY Marked Cavalry Spur
Click on an image to enlarge
Here we have a beautiful non-excavated Civil War cavalry spur. This is the classic style that was worn by the cavalryman during the Civil War time frame. What is special about this one is that on one of the legs it has the desirable "TIFFANY NEW YORK" marking on the inside of the spur body. Yes, that is the same Tiffany Company that sold so many superb quality military items to the most wealthy of Union soldiers. This one is in beautiful non-excavated condition. The rowel is intact and still spins. This is the EXACT spur that is pictured and described on page 103 of the fine spur book by Dr. Bob Baird entitled Confederate, US and Other Civil War Used Spurs. He explains how this is a spur of the style that has the cool design of the jagged neck in addition to the Tiffany marking. This is a fine displaying cavalry spur with the desirable Tiffany of New York marking.
