Here is a great image showing the "'54 View on the top of Lookout Mountain, Tenn. 2 Different Views." It has this description below the image and also the number of the image "2654". It has the image and the label applied to the thick card backing. When you turn the card over, you see the printers label that reads "1861-1865 - The War for the Union - Photographic History." It also adds that "Nearly a quarter of a century has passed since these photographs were made, and during this time 'negatives' have undergone chemical changes which makes it slow and difficult to work to get 'prints' from them. Of course no more 'negatives' can be made, as the scenes represented by this series of war views have passed away forever. These photographs can only be obtained from the undersigned." And has the printer "John C. Taylor, 17 Allen Place, Hartford, CT. " The card itself measures 3-1/2 inches wide and is 3-7/8ths inches tall. What a great little image from about 1890.
