This is a fine original Civil War $1.00 note from the state
of North Carolina. It was issued from Raleigh on January 1st 1863 and is so
printed in ink on the lower right hand side. There is a beautiful scene in the
center of the top of the note that shows the goddesses Commerce and Prosperity
holding the number "1" with sailing scenes on one side and industrial scenes on
the other. It is correctly hand signed and numbered in old ink. On the reverse
of the note it is unprinted just as it should be. Bills printed only on one
side are referred to as being uniface. The note is in nice circulated condition
and is 100% authentic. The overall size of the note measures 6-3/8ths inches by
3.75 inches. The note comes in an acid free holder for preservation and display.
