Here is an original Civil War newspaper. This is the September 26th 1862 edition of Worcester Daily Spy newspaper from Worcester, Massachusetts. At the top of the page it has the Massachusetts state seal. The paper is four pages and has lots of interesting articles and also cool advertisements. The lead story on the front page is about how President Lincoln became guarded by the cavalry escort. It tells of how the Confederate cavalry got close to Lincoln's country home near Washington. After the close call, Mrs. Lincoln gave him a talking to and he was then to be guarded at all times. The paper is very legible but the splits and separations along the seams and is priced accordingly.
