Here is a very nice button that you seldom see offered for sale. This is the Civil War cuff size uniform button that was worn by the Highland Cadets of Worcester, Massachusetts. This school was founded in 1855. This is the pattern listed as SU157 in Albert's button book and MSS390as in Tice's button book, both of which we sell. It has the initials "HC" in the center of the button with a cross above and a helmet and flags below. It has the original back and shank intact. You can clearly see the correct Civil War maker's mark of the Scovill Company of Waterbury, Connecticut on the reverse. This is a fine non-excavated Civil War era Highland Cadets cuff button.
