If you have wanted a nice displaying Civil War cavalry uniform with a cool look, then this is for you. This is the classic uniform that is referred to by collectors as the "Shell" pattern coat. This is the style that was worn by the regular fighting men of the cavalry branch of service. It has the blue wool to the body of the coat. The body looks nice as you can see with the standard golden cavalry trim. The trim displays well with some losses as you see in the images. It has the golden trim on the collar. It is made without the thick tall pillows on the back of the coat that were designed to hold the soldier's belt up. It has all of the original general service eagle buttons going down the front and also on the cuffs of the coat. When you open the coat up, you see the original lining with a pleasing cream color to the material. In one sleeve, there are the clear original maker stampings of Haber, Isaac & Company of New York as well as the stamped date of the contract of "3 NOV. 1864". The maker book states that Haber had contracts to make 56,800 cavalry jackets in their contract of December of 1863 and November of 1864. This one is interesting and displays beautifully!
