TINY & RARE! Non-Excavated Confederate 13mm Kepi Size Staff by H.T.&B.

This is a beautiful example of the scarce 13mm kepi size Confederate staff officer's uniform button. This is the version that is listed as figure CS36as in Albert's button book and also as figure CS210as1 in Tice's button book. It was made by the famous firm of Hammond, Turner & Bates of Manchester, England and is so marked on the back of the button. It has superb detail on the face with lots of the original gold wash remaining down in the recesses that makes the eagle stand out. The back of the button has the original back and shank intact in a superb condition. In my 35 years in the business, this is only the second one of these I have been able to offer. The last image shows how this tiny jewel looks beside a standard coat size button. This is an excellent button all the way around that will be a superb addition to any collection.
