Very Rare Non-Dug Coat Size North Carolina State Seal Button NC2
Click on an image to enlarge

This is a beautiful button. This is the scarce coat size state seal button from the state of North Carolina. The great seal of North Carolina depicts the female figures, Liberty and Plenty. Liberty is holding a liberty pole with her right hand and in her left is a scroll inscribed "Constitution". Plenty grasps a cornucopia with her left hand and wheat with her right hand. As you can see the face of this button has beautiful gold gilding remaining in just the right places to give it a gorgeous look. This is the very well made button from the Scovill Company. It is the 22mm coat size staff officer's button with the small letter "SCOVILL MF'G CO. / WATERBURY" with two rows of dots on the inside backmark. This is the version listed as NC2 in Albert's book and as NC204A3 in Tice's button book. The face has a beautiful look with a nice amount of the original gold gilding remaining. The back and shank are nicely intact as well. In our 20 years in the business this is the second one of these jewels that we have been able to offer. This is a great looking coat size North Carolina staff officers uniform button by Scovill.
