This is one of the most distinctive Confederate made officer's swords you encounter. This is the version that was made by the Columbia, South Carolina firm of Kraft, Goldschmidt & Kraft. These swords are much more massive than most of the other swords you encounter. The blade measures 32-1/4th inches in length. This one still has some of the etching still visible on the sides. On the front side of the blade, it has the shield as well as the cross cannon etching. On the back side, you can clearly see the large "CS" lettering. These blades have the distinctive the cutting edge stops very abruptly near the base. Most Confederate swords have edges that just fade out. The massive brass guard has the floral design with the "CS" lettering in the center for Confederate States. If you notice where the guard meets the pommel cap, it has the dolphin like head design. What a cool trait in a time of such necessity that most swords are plain. The pommel cap on these swords are also different than most. These utilize a different design on each side. Most makes choose one, generally a ivy or laurel design. Kraft used both. The handle on this sword has an ancient look. It is complete with a gorgeous tone all over. The sword is accompanied by a fine original scabbard. The scabbard has the heavy mounts with the bevels on the sides. It has both of the iron rings intact as well as the brass throat and drag. the body of the scabbard still has a fine amount of the original black paint intact. This one is exceptional and is worthy of any museum like collection.

Items can be shipped UPS or USPS Priority Mail. Tennessee residents must include 9.75% sales tax. All items are 100% GUARANTEED. If for any reason you are unhappy with the relic just return it UNALTERED within 5 days for a refund minus shipping charges and restocking fee of 6%. Layaways can be arranged on items over $100. Layaway terms are; 1/3 down and 1/3 in 30 days with balance due in full in 60 days. Due to time factors there are no refunds or price discounts on layaways.
