SCARCE! Confederate $100 From 1861 With Train Scene & Green Ink T-5

Here is a note that is in my opinion one of the most attractive notes issued by the Confederacy. This is the 1861 issued note that is known to collectors as T-5 in the Confederate Currency book. They only issued 5,798 of these notes and very few of them survive today. This one is serial number 619. The center scene of the note shows the steam train with the smoke coming out of the stack. On the right hand side it has the image of the Goddess Minerva, the Goddess of war, pictured holding a spear and a helmet. In the lower left hand corner it has the image of Lady Justice holding a scale. These were engraved and printed by the Southern Bank Note Company in New Orleans. What makes the note really stand out is the green ink overprints that display beautifully with the black in on the face. The note has the back side that is not printed which is referred to as the note being "Uniface". It is correctly hand signed and numbered with the hand written issue date of August 28th 1861. You can see the small holes that were punches in the paper. This is known as "Cut Cancellation" and is where the note was taken out of circulation by the Confederate Government. This note has been professionally graded by the PMG Company and they rated it as being "Very Fine". The note comes in their acid-free holder for display and preservation. Don't miss your opportunity to own this scarce note!
