Original Non-Dug Civil War Eagle Officer Belt Buckle on Black Leather Belt

When you look at this one, I wonder what kind of service it saw. This is an a very cool non-excavated Civil War eagle officers belt buckle on the original black leather belt. This is the style that was worn on the sword belt of many Civil War officers. It has the beautiful spread wing pattern eagle in the center of the buckle. The eagle has the ribbon coming from her beak that reads the motto "E PLURIBUS UNUM". This is the pattern that has the integrally cast wreath around the eagle with the stippled background. On the back of the buckle it has the original small size keeper hook intact. Collectors of always preferred these thinner keeper hooks as the majority of them were manufactured earlier in the war. It has matching "480 E" assembly numbers of the buckle and the keeper. This lets us know they have been together since the factory. The buckle is on the original black leather belt. The belt has the original keeper and brass length adjuster intact. You can tell that the belt saw service but wasn't abused and now it displays quite well as you can see.
