This is an original 1862 dated $10 note from the state of Virginia. On the left
hand side it has the image of the God Thor with his hammer. In the center of
the note is the image of the Goddess Prosperity seated with a cornucopia. In
the lower left hand corner is the image of Governor John B. Floyd, who served
as Governor of the state of Virginia.
The note has nice colors with the black and greenish blue inks which make this
design stand out well. It is correctly hand signed in ink for the Treasurer and
public accountant at the bottom of the note. On the right hand side it has the
printed date of October
15th 1862 and on the left hand side it has the capitol location of Richmond, Virginia. This pattern of bill
measures approximately 7.25 inches by 3.25 inches in overall size. The note is in attractive almost un-circulated condition and is 100% authentic. It has been professionally graded by the PMG Company and they graded it as "Choice About Uncirculated" and note that it was printed on "Exceptional Paper Quality". The note comes in an acid free holder for display and preservation.
